At this point the average voter believes the rising prices on food and energy is a result of Russias military operations in Ukraine + lack of rain in some parts of Europe.
This is really bad because it means all the terrible policies that are actually causing the inflation will remain in place.

When i went to school, which was a while ago by now, the school teacher put the dumb kids up front (they were nice people, but not the brightest). They had to sit at the tables closest to his desk. Thats where they had to sit during class. This gave the rest of class the impression that the "stupid" people was under control and it was just two people anyway. And thats pretty much how ive lived my life, naively believing that the stupid people are under control. But they are not. They have infiltrated the highest positions in society. They are not under control they are in control pretty much. Whos going to stop them? Its not possible?

@k00b I noticed that smileys like ":D" are removed from a comment. Why is that? I had to escape the ":" with a slash to make it visible here.
reply
I think that's a bug! Must be triggering some kind of markdown thing that removes it.

привет! хочу иметь кнопку для сохранения статьи для чтения в будущем.? появиться? очень удобное будет. 5 сат можно сделать в 1 месяц.... и тогда я не буду сохранять ерунду
reply
Ah, haha, I (wrongly) assumed you want to keep discussion "serious" since smileys just add noise (hypothetical argument). But I see, I was wrong, haha
However, I also started to use less smileys in my comments. This makes them seem more mature, haha
(But I replaced my ":D" usage with "haha", however, haha)
As you can see, I use it way too often ^^

I tried to login via alby+lnbits using the same wallet from another computer but for some reason it creates a new account. It worked fine on alby+lndhub.
reply
Go to Alby settings and on the bottom of the page you have the options for legacy LN-auth and legacy signing for lndhub and lnbits

@k00b, you should invite Greg Maxwell on SN AMA and be an active user here. They even suspended him on the infamous r/Bitcoin LOL
reply
Would love to have him on for an AMA obviously
reply
lmao this is hilarious

Reddit has become total crap.
reply
Reddit has always been total garbage at least for tech oriented discussions imo !
reply
IMO ever since they introduced subreddits. It used to only be tech discussion.

Ask SN: if somebody from SN, sent me yesterday a tip twice to my lntxbot LN Address, by mistake, please contact me and I will reimburse you the sats. Thanks for your good tip, but twice is not really necessary.
reply
hash ending in 7f64c7 was me, but I don't see that it went out twice and it wasn't that much.
reply
Yes, I saw your one, it include also your name (that is nice). Your one was just before the two ones with allegedly a mistake. Thank you!
reply
How will you verify they are telling the truth? I'm sure there are options, just want to hear them
reply
you can ask for the preimage hash or at least the exact amount. Only the sender can know that
reply
Ah, because routing nodes don't know the receiver?

Do you have a lot of bookmarks or just memorized all these links, haha?
reply
In all these 10+ years going down the Bitcoin rabbit hole, I accumulate bitcoins, knowledge and ... bookmarks. I quite simple: all days, read, learn, test, observe, save those bookmarks that are interesting and organize them by category. Later review them or test the solution. The whole Bitcoin world is a continuous learning, every fucking day.
You don't want to know how many bookmarks I have. This will be me showing you my bookmarks :)
reply
I envy an aspect of the life you just described.
And you even talk like Charlie, too!
@k00b maybe I am wrong, but I think SN is drunk: for more I tip posts or comments, more I receive back every day from redistribution. Are you running a fractional reserve or something ? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
reply
You mean it's not from the posting you do?
reply
Rewards pay out based on positing, commenting, and upvoting.
reply
We have discussed this matter in some detail before. I meant this more in regards to @Darthcoin as a user. That they post/comment a lot, which I expect would garner receiving more upvotes as well. Would that last part feature in rewards, or doe that work only based on ones own upvotes?
reply
Yes if your content ranks higher you get more rewards, but it’s also more competitive than upvoting. Very few people upvote good stuff early.
reply
but would you say if some of those few people were power users? :) Not to suggest our friend as a power user...
reply
They are a committed minority for sure if that’s what you mean by power user.
Sifting through recent needs to be done and is, without literal rewards, unrewarded.
reply
Haha I noticed the same. But also happens that I only received a single sat after I tipped a lot of comments/posts (if I even slightly liked them for example).
I have to look into the code for this trust mechanism etc. to understand it deeply.
It's kind of very exciting at least to see how many sats you received via the distribution.
reply
Four things affect rewards for tipping:
  1. how high the content ranked relative to other content
  2. how early you tipped it
    • All else being equal, 2nd tipper gets half the 1st, 3rd gets 1/3rd, and so on
  3. how much you tipped
  4. your trust level, e.g. how reliably you are at upvoting good content early
reply
Yes, I read about this. But I am still interested to look into the code which implements this when I have time.
I think your approach is an innovation in itself. Were you inspired by something to come up with this? Web of trust in GPG for example?
