I believe your trust score is certainly higher than mine and right below @Undisciplined's. I asked koob about it and he said that It's not always how many and and how much a post is zapped, but it matters who zaps it. I have a gut feeling that a post doesn't appear higher in the ranks until it's zapped by the higher value stackers than the OP himself
Yes, it's all about who zaps it and how much they zap. If siggy of k00b zaps your post 100 sats it is worth more than 5 other stackers zapping 20 sats each.
I don't mind this. What bothers me is punishing stackers for zapping a lot of content. My trust rank shouldn't drop because I zap or comment on the post of a new or lower value stacker but it does.
I understand they want to keep from stackers just randomly zapping everything to move up the ranks but there should be a better balance. How can we create the next wave of top stackers, power users if you punish the existing top stackers for engaging with them.

I've asked k00b about this and I don't think you get punished (as in your trust score going down), but zapping non-top content slows how quickly your trust score grows.
Based on conversations with k00b, I'd be very surprised if your trust score weren't almost as high as his and Siggy's.

I didn't know that. Is it written in the FAQs or somewhere else? I think only those are punished who zap some spam content.

Your individual rank depends on you engaging with "high quality" content. Even if you are not explicitly punished (say docked a point) for engaging with low quality content, doing so reduces the overall amount of high quality content you are engaging with.
Say I zap and comment on 50 posts today. If 5 are top posts and 45 aren't I believe my rank would be worse than if I just engaged with 10 and 5 were top posts.

I see. That's why my trust score is very low.

The trust score mechanism at SN is fantastic for at least we are talking about. Can you say the same for any other platform?
I personally don't have any objections to how it works except for my "Daily Zap'" post always remains way down under, sometimes even lower to a few posts whi have been zapped only 10 Sats.

That's sorting on "top", not "hot"?
reply
Yes. It's after sorting by top.
Yeah, there's a lot of inertia in the trust scores.
reply
I'm pretty sure that's correct. Trust is meant to be a measure of how reliable your zap signals are.
