"This FDA-approved drug promises a new way to treat schizophrenia
Bristol Myers Squibb's drug, KarXT, improved symptoms of adults with schizophrenia and had fewer side effects than antipsychotic treatments"
For those who don't know, I was diagnosed with mild schizophrenia last February. I had been on meds for my anxiety and depression since 2016 without any major side effects, and a huge reduction of symptoms. However, when I was put on my Invega injection once per month, I started suffering from major side effects that have made me become really self conscious. However, I have made so much progress in reducing my schizophrenia symptoms that I've moved to a once every three month version of my injection, which I hope may reduce side effects. The two side effects that really have gotten to me are the tremors that make it hard to hold onto things at times and gaining over 100lbs in just over a year. At 31 years old, this new medication could be life changing for me and a lot of others.
P.s. If you're going to make comments about how I should just avoid pharmaceuticals and get off meds as a whole or throw conspiracy theories at me don't even bother. I AM SO MUCH HEALTHIER MENTALLY because of my mental health medications.
