Even with all the hype, I wouldn't have guessed they matched (and surpassed) the Pacers attendance. The Pacers were one of the more fun teams last year and they have really loyal fans.
It's astonishing that one great player might be able to make an entire league viable. Although, I've heard that's roughly what Dr. J was doing for the ABA.
It will be interesting to see what attendance is like next year. A lot of hype this year.
