Due to the Caitlin Clark effect the Indiana Fever unsurprisingly set the WNBA record for attendance this year. In their 20 home games they saw a total attendance of over 300k fans and averaged 17035 fans per game. Impressive.
In fact, that was an even better average home attendance than the Pacers garnered last season (16526). Granted in half the games and with ticket prices dramatically cheaper but still an outstanding outcome for the Fever and WNBA.
Toronto will be getting an WNBA team in 2026. I expect it will do fairly well considering how well the women’s pro hockey team is doing.

It's good attendance for a women's game. However, nor as big as Women Cricket gets in Australia, England and India.

I don't follow the games either but find the Caitlin hype and how it is growing the game really intriguing.

didn't think i'd ever watch a wnba game but she got me hooked during her insane march madness runs... feels like watching Jordan in the early days.
What's crazy is that she's bringing in all of these fans and selling so much merch but making $70k in salary this year haha.

Even with all the hype, I wouldn't have guessed they matched (and surpassed) the Pacers attendance. The Pacers were one of the more fun teams last year and they have really loyal fans.
It's astonishing that one great player might be able to make an entire league viable. Although, I've heard that's roughly what Dr. J was doing for the ABA.

I believe Reese got hurt as well and missed some games at the end of the season that knocked her out of the running
