No, I think many understand it fairly well, they just choose not to exploit it because the main goal is not to extract as many sats as possible out of SN.
TBH, I'm yet to believe that early zapping can rank someone so highly. I'm like 12+ hours on SN these days. But the leaderboard rank I'm getting these days hasn't come because of early zapping at all.

It can definitely make a big difference. I've seen that myself, but you can overcome small early zaps with lots of huge zaps.
reply
So, that means (supposing we only have 1 post, 3 stackers in total) if you zap 50 and the next zapper zaps 51 he's gonna lead you on the leaderboard.
What about the third stacker who created the post? Will the ranks be
  1. The zapper with 51 sats
  2. The zapper with 50 sats
  3. The Op.
Or, should it be like that?
reply
I believe the OP will be tied with the first zapper. Being #1 in posts is worth the same as being #1 in post zapping.
The early bonus is worth more than 1 sat, so the smaller zap is worth more towards rewards.

Anyways, I mean it's complicated for me. The more I try to understand it, the more confusing it gets.
I think we should stop talking a lot about it. Why should we care, after all? I wasn't here for Sats at first, nor you were, we're same. We should keep doing what we're doing and that's keep sharing some amazing content with each other.
I also think that we should refrain from giving this nonsense stacker our attention the next time he attempts. Why I'm saying this because I can sense that the person who created this would be laughing while seeing all us discuss a nonsense AMA where the OP replies after hours.

I'm fascinated by the rewards system for the same reason I became an economist, but it's not very important to understand it.
One of the best features is that it's too complicated to consciously game (for the most part). It's easier to just follow the heuristic of "Earn rewards by adding value."
reply
Yes, let's just keep adding value. To seek attention, this stacker is now posting some shit memes to the bios, lol. He posted like where are my rewards? I don't think, he barely understands what it takes to stack a million sats on SN within 6 months. You can't just do it by gaming the rewards algo.

Someway, that's why I muted so many territories, and keep clean and reduced my SN feed. Otherwise I would be always in top 5 leaderboard if I would comment in all territories.
I think I know how he played the algo, some time ago I saw it playing with nemo some stupid games zapping each others. It's involved an anon zapping a lot beside that SN account.
You guys are not playing enough attention to what is going on in SN. This AMA is a joke.
reply
I've also muted so many srackers who keep posting just links only in attempt to find one or two links that somehow become success here. Is that a right practice to just post a link, in your opinion?
reply
I don't really fault people for doing that, but it's much better to include some context with a link post.

A territory is different than a single stacker. I do not mute so many individual stackers. Only real spammers. When you mute a whole territory, you are not seeing any of that territory content.
For example this "LOL" territory I have it muted. I came here only because TheWildHustle posted on nostr this AMA and I find it funny. Otherwise I would not even see it and comment.

I think they fixed the exploit that involved anon zapping.

This AMA is a joke.
It's bullshit. This account wants to get acceptance among stackers, nothing else. He certainly has got another account. I dare say koob and any other stacker can find this entertaining when without any comment or post a person can slip away with big rewards, I can never accept it.
