Hello stackers!
I wouldn’t say I hate questions in general, as ‘hate’ is such a strong word that I try to avoid using. Also, my work requires to answer questions of variable nature and I need to be clever every time to answer them. So, I'd actually say that I've been habitual of it and kinda something that's my daily routine.
However, a question that I can’t stand being asked is, “Can (or May) I ask you a question?”
This question seems ludicrous, as in the asking, a question is asked. When someone asks me this, I'd jump and say — Just ask the dang question!
So, here I'm, tell me in case you also don't like something being asked.
"where are you from, i detect an accent?" - to convey exactly where i was born, where i grew up, where i have been, and how my accent formed, wud require at least 30 seconds, a one-sentence answer is not sufficient.
i am then faced with a challenge of figuring out whether the person is interested in those details, whether he/she is worth talking to, and whether sharing those details is safe.
