Has it been rebuilt or been preserved since middle age?
GM. Thank you for your reply. It has been rebuild many times after the conflict with Barcelona. Besalu was one of the small Catalan Countries during 10th-12th century and there was a short war with Barcelona.
It was blown up during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) and rebuilt in the 1950s-1960s. After that it has few minor repairs.
