Very sad news.

If you've ever visited our project and spent some sats here, chances are you visited this shop.

Kwallos Shop, owned by Nosihle and her husband Vuyisa, was the first township spaza shop to start accepting payment in #Bitcoin, in August 2021.

Unfortunately they had a fire accident over the weekend.

A close family member lost his life when the informal building where he lived adjacent to the shop burnt down and caused extensive damage to the shop itself, destroying most of their stock.

If you can, please consider making a small donation to help with reconstruction.

Sent some sats, thanks for the post. Knowing that donations go straight to the recipient removes a lot of friction/second-guessing. I usually don't donate because I don't trust that the money will end up in the right place.

I verified that you didn't change the LN address and then send it directly :)

edit: Btw, there are also 10% fees on every zap on SN for sybil resistance, see FAQ:

To make this feature sybil resistant, SN now takes 10% of zaps and re-distributes them to the SN community as part of the daily rewards.

So if you forward the amount that you see in the UI, then you're eating the fee. So you should only forward 90% if you don't want to subsidize the fee.
