Moving your neck in any way during an injury like that is a nono.
Just have to brace until they do the testing.
Yep! Hospital decided they knew better and moved it though so that's super scary in hindsight! I wore a c-collar for a couple of months before my surgery and then six months after any time I wasn't lying down. To this day I still wear it for airplane take offs and landings because of how bumpy and just the force on your neck at those times. Same if the flight is having a lot of turbulence!
