My Bangladeshi colleague couldn't contact his family anymore. Two of his juniors at his former uni got slaughtered. He told me of videos where the army was shooting at students from helicopters.
It's fucked.
Now he could reach his siblings using some vpn commected to some banking wifi that had to be restarted as half the country depends on remittances for survival.
He believes he won't be able to return to his country with current government in place. He believes he's blacklisted as most Bangladeshi abroad as they are the ones who can post and tell about the crimes committed by their government.
I'll ask him tomorrow what her resignation means for the future of the country.

I don't know the reality of Bangladesh very well, but I do know that 170 million people in such a small country can easily become a powder keg, and I hope not.
