I was disappointed to see the Canadian Women’s soccer team fall to Germany in penalty kicks today, but Canada had much better luck in the pool as Summer McIntosh picked up her 3rd gold (4th medal) of the games.
She became the first Canadian Olympic athlete ever to win 3 golds in a single Olympic Games. What an incredible achievement for the 17 year old phenom!
Summer has achieved a rare feat. @Coinsreporter has mentioned something about getting 3 medals in a single Olympics.

I was shocked to see that this is Ledecky's 4th Olympics. Time flies.

Time flies. It’s amazing when athletes have long Olympic careers and go to 4 or 5 Olympics. It’s not like playing 20 years in the NBA, so much of their pursuit is thankless.

I guess I'm hitting the age where an entire decade can seem to zip past.

You know you are old when you start describing things that happened 10-15 years ago as a few years ago.

The last three years of the pandemic have passed, henceforth his parents will definitely accompany him to compete.
McIntosh wasn't able to have parents Jill and Greg or sister Brooke with her in Tokyo three years ago when she made her Olympic debut at 14 because of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Great job by Summer!
There's the theory that Summer will anchor for tomorrow's women's 4x100 medley relay. Let's see if the theory holds and team Canada puts her at the anchor spot for a potential medal.
They talk about the theory at 2m50s.

Glorified Golden Summer! She's winning hearts all over the world. I asked my niece for who's her favourite Olympian? She answered two names. One is Manu Bhaker and the other one Summer. First I thought that there may be an Indian with this name, then she went on saying she is an English Girl who swims. I told her She's Canadian and she kept on insisting saying, "No Mama (Uncle in Hindi), she is English". I had to then bring in one old Atlas to tell her the difference and distance between England and Canada. She's 7 years Old only but I could see she wasn't sure about English and Canada.

That’s great your niece is following Summer’s performance and learned a little geography as well.

I've a niece and a nephew and TBH they are the most curious kids I've ever seen. They are the naughtiest ones as well!

That’s odd. Works on for me. Anyways I recapped the story in the post. First Canadian athlete to win 3 golds in an Olympics. The story just had a quote from her and talked about the fact that she has a chance to tie the Canadian Olympic record for 5 medals in Olympics if she gets a medal in her last race.

Congratulations for three. Best of luck for another one.
