I'm almost certain this didn't happen (and as you know, I'm decidedly not a Trump fan).
His only rally that day was in St. Cloud, and the speech is online. I'm not going to sit through ninety minutes (or even ninety seconds) of him speaking, but searching the transcript, he only mentions btc briefly when talking about his day, noting that he went from talking to evangelicals to talking to bitcoiners, talking about how broadly his campaign was focusing.

Yeah, I think his sign-off at the btc conference ("have a good time with your Bitcoin and your crypto and everything else that you're playing with") summed up what he thinks of btc perfectly.

This is crazy to me. How did it lose? Governments and Blackrock are way late to the party. 19M coins have been mined and the people have front run them both.
Even if blackrock and the government got 50% of the coins the ledger is public. Transparency of our financial system goes up 1000 fold. Stop with the black pills already. Be more positive.

I don't trust politicians to do anything good for Bitcoin. I've just formed a clear view that Bitcoin and politics don't match. Trump has come to Nashville for votes, not for Bitcoin.

If something like Trump speaking at the largest bitcoin conference didn't happen this year it would have happened at some point in the future. Maybe a different guy but it was bound to happen. Just like the ETFs were bound to happen.
I swear some of the takes on this stuff show a serious lack of critical thinking. A narrow focus on one's own beliefs without considering the society we live in.
As bitcoin rises in market price it attracts more people. Most people are statists. Those that hold bitcoin have more wealth an with wealth comes influence. These things attract politicians. Politicians seek the support of those with power and money. We know we don't need the state or politicians but that will not stop what is happening.
See it for what it is. The new phase of bitcoin's slow takeover of everything. It isn't gonna be neat and clean and ideologically pure.
All that said. I'm not changing what I'm doing or what I believe but my head is not in the sand. Not gonna waste time being mad at statists for being what they are.

Yea I am glad it is getting attention and possibly some politicians to "jump" on board during an election year. Hopefully that will open some eyes. But am very skeptical on them doing it.

Bitcoin didn't lose, it was just a meeting of people who didn't understand BTC and have been waiting forever for someone to rescue them, for someone to come along and help them and do the work for them. Trump knows nothing about Bitcoin. That’s fairly evident. The speech was bad but I don’t think it was bad for Bitcoin.
