Here Come the Grifters
There is a saying that the market is forward looking. It appears the grifters are also forward looking. Even though we haven't really kicked off a raging bull market yet, whether it's musical artists, presidential candidates or sports athletes, the pump and dumps are upon us.
Here is the latest exhibit I submit to the court:
That's right former Bulls legend Scottie Pippen is tokenizing a basketball (yes, you heard that correctly). The ball will remain in Scottie's possession. You will have no legal authority over any fractional ownership of the ball but you will get a token you can degen trade. I marvel at the INNOVATION.
The best part is Tokenomics: Coming Soon.
Can't we just fix the money, fix the world?
Sats for all, GR
Ever since The Last Dance, Scottie's just gotten consistently shittier.

Still reeling over his ex wife hooking up with Jordan's son.

Did they get married?

I think so or are planning to do so.

Couldn't agree more – the grifters are indeed out in full force, and this Scottie Pippen basketball tokenization scheme is a perfect example of the absurdity. It's almost comical how these pump-and-dump schemes are becoming increasingly bizarre, targeting fans' emotions rather than offering any real value or utility. The fact that buyers won't even have legal ownership of the ball, just a tradable token, really highlights the emptiness of these projects. You're spot on about the need to fix the money to fix the world – focusing on sound monetary principles like Bitcoin's scarcity model seems far more productive than these tokenized gimmicks. It's a shame to see respected figures like Pippen getting involved in such questionable ventures.

Hoping the sensible regulation that comes will stop the scammers. I was at the conference this past week, and there were definitely many grifters amongst us.

Bankrupt Scottie? The man who signed the worst deal in nba history is making another poor financial decision!
reply
Sounds like a way for him to own it while everyone else pays for it.

Ughh! The thieves are back to stealing!

This sounds more like NFT or ordinals! Or, am I just missing something?
reply
Yes. It is a pump and dump scam but it's notable because it is conducted by a very famous basketball player.

Keep updating about the progress.

I won't be speaking of this project again. I just wanted to show stackers that we are getting to the phase of the bull market where entertainers and athletes are jumping into crypto to try and get their piece of the pie.

I'll be telling them not to fall prey of such attempts. In fact they are my tribe and still very new in Bitcoin's world. Also they might have taken it for a positive thing.
reply
Interesting I'll keep eye on it.
reply
Don't bother it's not worth your time.
