I think Trump's base was going to be happy with whomever he picked, so I don't think it mattered. I think Tucker Carlson would have been a huge deal.
I feel this is pretty true. He is the main person that people want. I just feel with Carlson, he would have added even more exposure.
reply
No doubt. Makes me wonder why he didn't pick him.
reply
I know...that is what I was thinking. He was the one that popped out the most when I was reading that document.
reply
I have plenty of disagreement with Tucker, but he is a really formidable speaker. I would not want to be campaigning against him.
reply
Oh man. Imagine his debates vs. name em.
reply
He is quick, plus he has a solid base. What does the JD guy offer?
reply
Vance is the author of Hillbilly Eligy, which was an enormously influential book about Appalachia. He has a ton of working class credibility.
reply
Doesnt Trump already have a solid base for the working class?
reply
Yeah and I don’t know exactly what the calculus was here.
I think there’s a lot of skepticism about Trump’s appointments, because they were so bad in his first term.
Vance might be a signal that he learned something from that and won’t pick a bunch of establishment hacks this time.
reply
I thought he would have picked his kids. Thinking of succession and all.
reply
That’s always struck me as silly. Americans hate that sort of thing. It would make no sense electorally.
Vance committed to behaving opposite of the way Mike Pence did.
reply
In what way? Being loyal to Trump?
Exactly, it would be a bloodbath.
reply
Its always a bloodbath when you are debating biden lol
reply
I know, right. He is quick on the uptake.
