It really surprises me that bitcoiners are falling for political shenanigans when we should know...

Do we know these are Bitcoiners? Trump drew lots of normal MAGA folks to the Libertarian National Convention.

I know Bitcoin Magazine, the sponsor of the conference has gone MAGA. But I see bitcoiners going political all over the place.

That's true, but it also doesn't mean they stopped being cheapskates.

I'm missing your point, I think. How do cheapskates and an $844,600 ticket go together?

I'm wondering how many of those attendees will actually be bitcoiners vs run of the mill Trump supporters who show up just for Trump.
I'm suggesting actual bitcoiners are likely unwilling to part with almost a whole coin for this. (@orthwyrm indicates that it's about $60k per person #613762.)

Ah, actual bitcoiners. How do you define this? To me actual bitcoiners will have nothing to do with this. In that case, are we not saying the same thing?

I'm a big tent guy, so we might not be defining it the same way. My guess is that these will mostly be rich MAGA donor types who at most hold some bitcoin on an exchange.

This is so crooked.
He is just using the bitcoin collective, he doesnt actually care about anything bitcoin is about.
Its so shameful that he is asking 850k to do a roundtable, but I guess that is just politics.

Nothing crooked about it. Just perfectly normal political fundraising that all candidates do. You pay a bunch of money, and you get special direct access.
Running a political campaign for president is enormously expensive. Every rally and event is not free: your campaign is covering the entire cost. The money has to come from somewhere.
Rumour is that the whole reason Trump held a rally outdoors – nearly getting killed in the process – was to save money on a venue. A field is cheaper than an enclosed stadium.

The secret service told him to have only indoor events in the future.
He can have bigger crowds outdoors
