so, this project actually was born during my years at university and started as a small creative writing piece that just flowed so nicely when writing it. let me give you a bit of context:
it’s a scene with a daughter coming home from her impromptu “date” with someone who has been her best friend for a very long time (she is absolutely high on life and the happiest she has probably ever been) only to stumble upon her mother cleaning her bedroom, and also finding acceptance letters to the college of her dreams in the process. and of course it is kept a secret from her mother. a years in the making brewing argument occurs between them, and you can only imagine how it goes from there.
- what was a most wonderful day turned into a shit day.
- things are literally ripped to pieces.
- some not so nice words are said.
- and a daughter so fed up with the expectations and double standards of her family has realized she has had enough of that bullshit, and is learning to live her life for her, and not at the satisfaction of anyone else.
so, with all this free time currently on my hands, i’ve decided to embark on my book writing journey again after sitting on it for nearly 3 years.
and actually finish it.
am i scared?
yes.
am i excited and slowly feeling the imposter syndrome already?
definitely.
will i be a ny times bestselling author?
i receive that shit with the fullest conviction and belief in myself.
i might even post some snippets of the raw chapters on here!
my delusional self says it’s already finished and it’s amazing.
i’ve spoken it.
it’s done.
and it is taking over the bestselling lists. 🙏🏻
any tips and tricks for writing a book would be lovely if anyone is currently ☺️ thanks always in advance! wish me luck 🍀
