We simply didn't want our logo to be a meme, a meme that many others also use in their logos, and a meme that implies drugs to people who don't know the meme, and a meme that could become stale after a while.
We're here to change the world, not mimic our peers.
I'm really happy with the new brand, particularly the logo and how the app icon looks on my home screen.
There's nothing out there like it, or us!
That's a great approach, and I'm glad you are happily proud with the result. Are you planning to match/apply this new approach across all the other products too?
reply
Unlikely. My original plan was for all the products to "match" only varying the white icon and colors, but this proved to be too restrictive as we added more projects, and it led to using the meme for our wallet icon, which always felt like a compromise.
I want each product to be able to stand on its own, and I'd rather have a great brand for each than force them to match.
We are currently designing the branding for our next product, and we are mostly ignoring the styles of our other brands, but we also haven't finalized it yet...

Nice, looking forward to it!
