Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.
Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!
We're open round the clock, so mosey on in whenever you please!
@k00b are you taking in consideration to integrate in SN the @justin_shocknet Lightning Pub and make SN wallet fully available into Shock Wallet ?
As you rejected several times my idea to make SN account a lndhub account, why not using LN.pub for that?
reply
True story.
During my latest work review, my Reporting Officer asked why I often misspelt Google as Goggle.
“At least twice,” she pointed out.
Realisation hit me like lightning. It never occurred to me that I was making this blunder.
“Thank you,” I replied sheepishly.
What words do you often misspell unknowingly?

Is there no way to zap a "pinned" post or comment on a post?
reply
Update: I think you can't zap a pinned post from a territory list view, but if you open the post, you can.
I also think you can zap a pinned comment from the overflow menu, but you can't do it as @anon.
Are these restrictions intentional @k00b, @ek?
reply
Mhh, I would like to see pins being zappable like any other item but reusing the pin icon might be weird. There was also some discussion between @k00b and me regarding this on Github, see stacker.news/pull/772 and stacker.news/pull/783.

It’s sort of weird reading Francis Fukuyama as someone who did study international relations in college with a focus on people/culture…because I immediately agree with so much of his perspective and it seems like a lot of people consider him “hard Right”…makes me curious what I actually believe in in such a fun and bizarre way.

To hear RFK Jr. speak so eloquently about what might be the biggest issue to me - the collusion of corporate and government corruption - and then present solutions that make some sense gives me immense hope for the future as I realize I am merely a French peasant who has no clue what the most egalitarian or just solution is to this immense problem.
The attitude of his VP choice, “healthy planet, healthy humans,” does however imply too much a greenwashed compassion-as-power authoritarian response to the world than I like, personally.

Good morning stackers. I lost my hat streak. Happened to end on an even number, 200 days. I thought I could make it over 1 year, but I was wrong. At least I survived the shoot-out, I think? Time to start a new streak.
Also, check out my weekly hiking post. This week we head to Grouse Grind.

I usually just zap enough each day that the hat streak keeps on going without me paying much attention to it. I was busy with work and personal things yesterday, and didn't find time to get on SN till after 10pm PST, which ended my streak. Time to start another streak.

Thought of the day:
As we all know, our fiat-based, consumeristic world encourages us to over-satisfy our immediate needs rather than saving resources and gaining time for ourselves. By avoiding the pitfalls of overconsumption, we can save and use our time to become more productive and independent.
Over-consuming and buying more than it is needed 'on-the-spot' leads to a waste of resources and then keeps us continuously enslaved in this logic.
Think about how we are constantly surrounded by offers, promotions, and 3-for-2 deals, all of which lead us to spend more money on goods and services that we don't necessarily need at that moment.
From the moment I've been orange pilled, I changed radically the way I buy goods and services I need. When I need to buy something, I first ask myself if I need it in the very short term, then if I do need it, I prefer to buy it in the right quantity at full price rather than purchasing it in an unnecessary larger quantity just because it's discounted.
reply
it might even change you to the producer slowly, because you are no longer satisfied with the average fiat quality. 👀

the sad truth: people have statism so deep into their minds that not even realized how twisted it is and now are making jokes with it.
I know very well how statist propaganda works. I survived 20 years of communist regime. This is how the state is trying to "normalize" things that should not even exist in your life. Making you feel comfortable and making jokes like it is part of your normal life.
Please read the book "Propaganda" by Ed. Bernays and you will see that is not bullshit what am I talking about. IS A FACT.

Reincarnation
With the understanding of how to deconstruct words down to its base origin meaning, we can now see the difference between knowing what a word may be referring to, and what it truly means.
Let’s use the word reincarnation or “re-in-car-nation” as an example:
Re - do again In - into Carnation - is a combination of two Latin words, the first being carō meaning “flesh”, and nation which comes from the Latin word natio meaning “to birth” or “people”.
Therefore Re-In-Car-Nation means to “redo into flesh birth”.
Although the referred meaning and true meaning are very similar, this is not always the case with many other words.
Never assume you know what a word means, either break it down to its true meaning or challenge the person using it against you on its true meaning.

If you want to understand what “running amok” means, you only got to visit the Sunshine Childhood Playground at Northpoint City. Here, energetic kids sprint everywhere to their heart’s content, oblivious to their bored parents seeking refuge in their smartphones. The noisy level? Deafening. I’m sure many a sophisticated yuppie would have sworn off parenthood after spending an intensive hour here.
Nonetheless, the fee here is a steal compared to its more upscale competitor. $8.80 per hour if you are a member - and the brave parent goes in for free. Struggling teachers can’t complain, I guess.
So, I asked my boy which playground he likes better - The Polliwogs or this one. Without hesitation, he answered, “Both”. Children are blissfully free of value comparisons. They just want a place that will fire their imagination. Right now, I’m watching him run all over the place with a new friend he just made, escaping presumably from another boy whom they deem as the T-Rex.
“I want to play with my friend,” he blurted out when he graced me with his presence for a split second before dashing wildly away. Maybe it’s due to the compact layout of the Sunshine Childhood Playground that aids in bridging hearts 💕.

Amok comes from a Malay word for ‘frenzied’
How did you even know such things?
I have a titbit to contribute: launch has Malay origins. First known use was in 1696, possibly derived from Spanish or Portuguese lancha (barge), which was in turn inspired from the Malay lancharan (boat)

yes but the migration must be started from the old device. You can also take the backup from another LND node (even a desktop one) and restore it into Blixt. No channels need to be closed.
