The US economy added 206,000 jobs in June, surpassing the forecast of 200,000. The unemployment rate edged up slightly to 4.1%, just above the anticipated 4%. Average hourly earnings increased by 0.29%, bringing the hourly wage to $35, a 3.86% rise over the past year.
The private sector contributed 136,000 jobs, while government employment grew by 70,000. The average workweek remained steady at 34.3 hours. Meanwhile, May's job gains were revised down to 218,000, and April's figures adjusted to 108,000.
