Maybe you know the situation. I suspect everybody who regularly goes on Bitcoin meetups knows this: A new person shows up. Maybe not a new person but someone who showed up 2 years ago once.
Or maybe people that are on Bitcoin-Twitter and have never been on a meetup. What about people that watch Youtube Bitcoin channels and never went on a meetup. Or the surprisingly high numbers of Coinbase customers.
How come? From Reddit we know that a solid 90% of people are lurkers. Is this the same for people that are Bitcoiners but have never been to a meetup or any other involvement in the scene? Maybe a little lower in out space? What do you think? What percentage of overall Bitcoiners are just casual Bitcoiners without being heavily into it?

What do you mean I'm literally asking you to guess a statistic what would a 3 letter agency do with that lololol

Greater than 50% are casual I believe. Many are hardcore but choose to keep some distance for whatever reason (busy, privacy or some other reason).
I think its good as well to have a silent army.

This is one of those questions that can have this answer: Nice try, fed!

It's an increasingly annoying answer at that...

0% there are no bitcoiners other than those you're already aware of.

Every bitcoiner I've met IRL is hardcore, so I say 10%-.

You can be heavily into it without showing it in public, ya know.

Anyone who uses centralized exchanges is a casual, just look at the percentage that uses them, I think that at least more than 80% are.
reply
All those traders and investors in centralized exchanges are casual Bitcoiners.

I think there is a large spectrum of users. Some saw a YouTube video and bought it on coinbase, others might just be holding their own keys and simply living their lives.
This is what a growing user base should look like. Imagine having a bitcoin meet up in a football stadium. It would be different.

Something I wouldn't be interested in. Too many people, lots of noise and those looking to network. I'd prefer smaller more intimate meetups. My favorite are 1:1
