It was probably only actually three or four days. It just became a standing joke during our trip that it somehow managed to be Canada Day every day.

Interesting. Maybe when it falls around a weekend, people take the whole weekend off for a short trip or something. Yes, a lot of businesses do close for Canada Day, especially in smaller towns. But it's usually just the day, not for a whole week.
