Is it like Christmas, where it's Canada Day all week?
I don't think so. At least not here in BC. Lots of celebration everywhere on July 1st though. Last year, we went to Central Park in Burnaby to see some fireworks, and they ended the fireworks show with a real explosion with a huge fireball. I thought they lit a barrel of gasoline on fire to blow it up or something. It was very loud and ended with a literal bang!

BC's where we were for some of it. Everyday of our drive, things were closed for Canada Day.

Interesting. Maybe when it falls around a weekend, people take the whole weekend off for a short trip or something. Yes, a lot of businesses do close for Canada Day, especially in smaller towns. But it's usually just the day, not for a whole week.

It was probably only actually three or four days. It just became a standing joke during our trip that it somehow managed to be Canada Day every day.
