You’re right though football is the most important of least important things. Politics play in a different championship and , talking only from my point of view, these days I try to hardly listen to them.
They may try , though match only last 90 minutes (perhaps up to 120 if extra time) out of 24 h per day. So, plenty of time to catch up with other important things.
