Maybe you need to open firewall ports. Ssh default ports are very carefully treated. Maybe it is easier to just access window shares with samba.

I just moved in a small but comfortable townhouse. I got now an amazing corner for running permanently my Bitcoin full node. I ran already in the past a node using my PC with an external hard drive. However, with that setup, the risk of a sudden disconnection of the hard drive from the PC with a consequent corruption of the downloaded data is pretty high. I need something which is more reliable.

Any specific suggestions? A mini PC with an internal drive with sufficient memory?

we've been thinking about how freebie should work with attached wallets. we might simply allow you to upgrade a freebie to non-freebie by paying an invoice afterwards.

it could also be a user setting: if it's enabled, we always try to pay from the attached wallet first / upgrade freebies.

currently, there is no choice. if you don't have enough sats in your custodial wallet, it will become a freebie item.

Yes but we already do that if you attach a wallet that supports spending. We support NWC, LNBits and LNC under that category for now. I use this to connect my LND node via NWC and zap stackers. For security and trust reasons (we don't want to become a juicy target and don't want you to need to trust us), the spending permissions are only stored on your client.¹

Yes. It's basically a test to see if the Lightning network can deliver micropayments which was one of its promises. I am currently basically cheating since I have a private channel to SN so I have actually zero fees and no routing failures but I suspect the majority won't want to open a private channel to SN just for SN.

However, I think zapping on nostr already validated that micropayments over lightning can work. We're just going to iterate on what nostr is already doing but with better UX. We're trying to stay as close as possible to the familiar UX of SN. Ideally, you wouldn't be able to tell any difference if you zap with fee credits or real sats with an attached wallet.

I had a funny idea last night:

What if we had a bot that is trained on our FAQ which then automatically responds with answers to questions about SN all around the site? Basically a chat bot for support that is integrated into the site in a natural way instead of as an annoying chat bubble.

It could find questions by checking where @k00b or me are mentioned and later be even more intelligent and read every comment to find if there is a question it can answer in it.

It would also mean that we get more value out of the FAQ since it's used to keep the bot's knowledge updated. The bot doesn't know what isn't in the FAQ.

I wonder if that's something one could build with ~openagents?

The history of Monopoly is fascinating… you play the game we understand (capital increase through rents and acquisition of assets etc and outstripping the $200 income per round of the board) and then you were supposed to play the co-operative version which showed there was enough to go around if everyone collaborated. Prosecutor

Prosecutors are government officials charged with investigating and prosecuting crimes.

Note: within the UK Corporation, the prosecution is carried out in the name of the “crown”, meaning the prosecutor works for the “crown corporation" which is a legal fiction.

Also note: representing a legal fiction without disclosing the full name of the owner of said legal fiction within court, is unlawful and illegal.

The official narrative for the function of the prosecutor is to decide which cases should be prosecuted, determine the appropriate charge and control the plea bargaining process.

This clearly has nothing to do with law, as a single person can never have so much power or control over the proceedings.

Note: the title “prosecutor” denotes that the decision of your innocence is already decided.

However, if you have no claimant or jury, just a prosecutor, then question the following:

“Does the prosecutor have subject matter or personal knowledge regarding the claim?”

Without either subject matter or personal knowledge then the prosecutor cannot move forward, due to there being nothing to substantiate the claim.

The prosecutor may try and gloss over this question and move forward, which he cannot do unless there is a witness present who does have either subject matter or personal knowledge, therefore ask the following:

“Has the prosecutor brought forward a witness to verify the claim?”

Without a witness then there cannot be any hearing, you are not in a “court of law”.
