Sorry for the lack of consistency, been a little hectic lately, but we're back (with some new parameters)!
- Add links for both the original and cover tracks.
- Check out at least 1 post that isn't yours, comment if ya like even!
- Sats for all but 1500 to who I deem the best, so let's see it!
Who did it better?
Leonard Cohen (original) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttEMYvpoR-k
Jeff Buckley (cover) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8AWFf7EAc4

Different. I like it. There are so many good covers of Hallelujah.
It's such a good song that you have to really make an effort to screw it up.
I decided on the Buckley version because it is probably the most well known cover. The best cover I have heard of hallelujah was KD Lang from the opening ceremonies of the Vancouver olympics.
view on www.youtube.comOooooo that's really good. He absolutely nails that!
I agree with what you're saying, I feel like the rock elements that safety suit used allowed the piece to become really emotive and raw without needing to be stripped back to acoustics. I also really liked the way they played into the 3/4 timing to create something very waltz like with the emphasis closer to a waltz. Very clever.
Ummm that's a she and yes she is a lesbian. Haha
🤣🤣
Winner + bonus sats for possibly the best reply ever
Very kind. I love the covers posts. Always great fun.
I feel like Hallelujah's the most covered song in existence these days. And that's fine, because it's a masterpiece. But I still go with Leonard, even if Buckley's was amazing.
Hard to go against Leonard here but I do love the Buckley version. The guitar work is great and the clean, slightly bright tone on the guitar is a nice element.
Perfectly summed up
Here's the original

Dude! This is awesome! The Chaka version has always been one of my favorites, but this one is great too!
I agree!
I couldn't decide between R&B and Dance music, they sound good in their own way.
Can't remember if I shared this or not before, but let's have it anyway.

Despite all the eyeliner I vote original here.
Hanging in, hanging in. How've you been?
Busy 🤣 very very busy 🤣 doing good though.
I'm a huge Dollyrots fan, so of course I was delighted to see them cover this obscure artist.
Original by some woman named Tay Lorswift, I think?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuNIsY6JdUw
Cover by The Dollyrots:
view on www.youtube.comWow the punk cover is so good.
I'm so old they're covering Swift already?!
I’ve always loved the total reconstruction here. Both versions are among my favs.
I really enjoyed that EW&F
