Rental prices have surged in several American cities in recent years. Factors such as inflation, a limited housing inventory, a changing workforce, and barriers to homeownership have all contributed to the increase in rent costs.
This graphic shows the top 10 American cities with the highest rental costs as of May 2024, according to the Zumper National Rent Index. Prices are for 1-bedroom units.
I get Miami, but I have no idea why anyone pay the price of living in those other places. To each his own, I guess.

Phoenix is pretty high as well, over here we are sitting at about $2K for a 2 bed 2 bath. Incomes aren't that high here as well.

I've a special feel for LA. I watched all of Lucifer and got to know that LA is a prominent city there. But it's sad that my favourite city shows up at the last.
