Side note: they didn't make me take laptops out of bag today at the TSA
They have new x-ray machines now that can better visualize what's in your bag. IIUC they use some kind of round, volumetric, scanning technology, which is why these new machines are big cylinders.

Curious that Ron Wyden introduced the bill in Senate.. has anybody looked into his reasoning?
