In this video, I discuss Trump's pivot to being pro-crypto and pro-Bitcoin and what this means for the US 2024 election.
Biden could quickly pivot and front-run Trump on these same issues (including banning CBDCs and freeing Ross Ulbricht), if he is smart and wants to win in November.
Biden needs to distance himself from Elizabeth Warren and her "anti-crypto army," which is clearly a losing stance for any politician in America now.
The big conclusion here is that the US government is NOT going to ban Bitcoin any time soon.
Even if Trump wins, we are going to need to remain vigilant about self-custody, privacy, and attempts by central bankers to control politicians behind the scenes.
Going forward, politicians will continue to trip over themselves to win Bitcoiners' votes.

I will push back and say this is not the first presidential race where candidates said anything they thought would get them votes. I do think Trumps shift on Bitcoin and crypto did sway the Dems to be less antagonist towards it but I don't think either party or candidate will care about Bitcoin or crypto the day after the election.

There's an old saying about how an honest politician is one who, when he's bought, stays bought. I think most politicians (Biden, Bush, Trudeau, etc) are like this. Trump just nakedly panders and says anything (even if he contradicts something else he said).
The way I've summed this up at times for some of my fellow geeks is that most politicians are Lawful Evil, but Trump is Chaotic Evil. Hobgoblins and bugbears are both dangerous, and saying, "I'll avoid the hobgoblin and walk into the bugbear's den" doesn't seem to make any more sense than doing the reverse.
