Always Be Closing
It is hard to not succumb to the sales pitch of the Dallas Mavericks when they are featuring two generational closers like Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. I feel I underestimated them but now I am most definitely buying what they are selling. Especially after I had a post yesterday marveling at how entire games, series, and seasons can come down to one play.
I am not sure what the TWolves can do aside from having a massive lead going into the final two minutes of play. Not that it likely matters much now as no team has ever come back from a 3-0 series deficit and aside from both Kyrie and Luka going down, I am not sure there is any hope of that changing. Looks like a Celtics vs Mavs final. I think the Celtics are the better team but give me four games where the Mavs keep it close heading into the final minutes and I will take Luka and Kyrie over the two Jays 4 out of 4 times.
This NBA playoffs has shown how important elite shot making is to the current game. Especially in the playoffs when games are generally very close in the final minutes.
Unlike the NBA, the NHL is featuring a couple finals that look like they could go the distance. Heck of a game yesterday between the Rangers and Panthers with the Rangers pulling it out in OT. Between the east and west finals there have been 5 games played so far and 3 of them went to OT.
