Being a teacher, everything you said in this post resonates with me.
However, while teaching in a college presents a scenario where a teacher needs to be more creative in his selection of method for his lecture. I don't see any value for college or higher grade students teaching through AI. So, I am clear that AI can't replace teachers
I think AI won’t replace teachers, but I can imagine myself using AI tools to prepare lessons for college-bound students too. Take for instance using Gemini to summarise key points of YouTube videos or give definitions of vocab words

What about grading? Maybe AI can take over grading papers and exams. Or make every exam multiple choice lol

Yes, sure. I have not met a single teacher who love to write question papers for exams. It's boring and time consuming.

AI doesnt understand the nuances of the english language. I experimented with this before.

Actually, the Singapore education system has already launched a ShortAnswerFeedbackAssistant to help teachers grade students’ writing. But ofc, human inputs are still required as this AI tool just picks up the surface-level errors like punctuation grammar spelling
