I posted this in the Saloon, but now I'm thinking I should make a post. A while back I wrote a post about the Melville Deli, a Long Island business that accepts bitcoin. #267725 Tomorrow at 5:00pm , @Simaan, owner of the deli, is sponsoring a bitcoin meetup. If any stackers are in the area, you should definitely stop by. Here's the announcement from the @orangepillapp:
I'm planning on hosting a meetup at the deli next Friday the 17th at 5pm. Sandwiches, beer and possibly steaks on me. Feel free to join. Just give me a heads up if you want steak. Got a couple bitcoiner buddies coming already, should be a good time.
@Coinsreporter does small meetups. I'm not there but surely would like to help Bitcoin meet ups grow in my country. I don't see there are any on the orangepileapp.

Thanks for mentioning. Mine are no match for these big meet ups. I only do meet ups for getting some people to stacker news and rest is done by the SN system. I always put stress that somehow my meetups can turn into orange piling someone. But often, they ignore it. But I'm happy that people like you are doing a great job and learning with great passion. Thank you so much.

I see a lot of meet ups around the world and just think why do t they occur too often in the largest country of the world. I request everyone (ever Stacker) to make these meetups popular by sharing because they are valuable and inmensly significant for Bitcoin's mainstream Adoption.

When we first moved to the town we live there was a small cafe on the main street "downtown" for sale and my wife wanted to buy it. I was dead set against it. I had just spent 15 years running a business and I was a bit burnt out. Ultimately it was the best decision because I wasn't in the right frame of mind to take on another business at the time.
But I sometimes think about it with regret. I could have made it the first business in town that accepts bitcoin, could have hosted meets ups and "educational nights", my wife and son (eventually) could have worked on the business with me.
I often check the local businesses for sale listings looking for a business that I think I would enjoy running and could be successful at that I could turn into a bitcoin business.

I have the itch to do the same thing. I'm hoping there might be some local guys who own businesses who show up tomorrow night. Getting a little circular economy going would be great. @Simaan used to have meetups at his deli years ago. I am pretty sure he would like to make it a regular thing.

That's great.
I am hopeful that over the next decade as bitcoiners gain a lot of wealth and maybe don't need to work fiat jobs anymore that we spend our time and energy fruitfully helping to grow the circular economy, adding more bitcoin businesses to the map etc.
