Many many surprises in the first round. Look at the guys still left on the board. Of course the 49ers go with a WR that fits their scheme instead of IOL, DL or CB. I don't know why I expected anything else. Shanahan is going to get himself another toy.
I think the writings on the wall about either aiyuk or deebo.

I would be surprised if they are traded today but I could see them moving on from Deebo after next season. They are a lot better with him but they have a deep running back room. They can use CMC in some of the Deebo role as well and use Mason or Mitchell at RB. They probably don't want CMC carrying the ball 30 times a game anyways. Deebo also has a tendency to get hurt.

How serious is the concern about Aiyuk leaving?
It's pretty frustrating when the team just ignores glaring problems. At least your team is really good. I'm well past being able to give the Raiders the benefit of the doubt. Even if Bowers is the next Gronk, that will have been a bad pick, unless all of those tackles and corners end up being busts.

I read (maybe the vikings subreddit) that there had been some kinda QB amnesty between MN, Den, LV. With MN going for McCarthy, Denver locked onto Nix and Raiders were supposed to get penix. Allegedly that information has come from Sean Payton. But you can't trust a word out of his mouth. The falcons weren't supposed to screw with that.
I still think Rattler is now the call, he's got huge upside. Just hope that works out.

The Falcons and Raiders picks were so odd that I was wondering if they had some kind of trade arrangement that they were working on together. You see that sort of thing in the NBA all the time.
I think we're rolling with Rodney Farva and the Mississippi Mustache.

It would just be so very falcons to now somehow some way come and get Brock bowers off you and just ruin Kyle Pitts career even more than they have already.

I knew they weren't going to trade Aiyuk unless they got a top 15 pick for him which teams were not going to do in a deep wide receiver draft. They have him under contract next year and they can franchise tag him the year after. I was fairly certain they would get a deal done but the St. Brown deal might have raised the bar higher than they want to pay. We will see.
While they look stacked at WR right now. They are pretty bare in the future. Jennings is a FA next year. They have an opt out on Deebo's contract next year and there is the Aiyuk situation.
They will probably pick another WR this draft. Maybe Rice or McCaffrey.
49ers need to really knock it out of the park in this draft or they are going to have a couple years or retooling coming up once they have to start paying Brock.

By my count, the niners already have 5 awesome versatile skill position guys: McCaffrey, Kittle, Deebo, Aiyuk, and Juszczyk.
Even if there's a strong case to start preparing for the future, I'd expect a Super Bowl contender to be patching up holes in the early rounds.

Shanahan says MORE!

Now he has a great Wildcat lineup: McCaffrey under center and five awesome skill guys.

It will be interesting to see what they do in the coming rounds. Since Shanahan and Lynch took over the team they have not drafted anything but WR, QB, OT, Edge, DT in the first round. We knew they weren't going QB. All the top tackles were off the board. Darius Robinson was the edge they were targeting in first round but he went to the Cardinals. I am surprised they didn't take Newton but maybe they had something in the medicals they don't like. 49ers are all about health history now. All the FAs they signed in the offseason are guys that don't miss games. They don't have the depth they used to so they want their starters and top rotational guys on the field.
