well, that’s a good question.
the truth is, mainly for myself.
i write because i like to, and not because i have to. it gives rise to my inner voice, when it has no where good to speak except through written words.
usually whatever comes to mind, i write. sometimes my thoughts come on a whim, and other posts take a bit of time to organize. it’s the best way i express myself and is a way of reflecting on my own life experiences and realizations.
i write because in a way, i want to give value and a voice to others who might relate to my way of thinking. maybe you as the readers can see yourself in my ideas or beliefs, or i can reach out to you in some way or another.
stacking sats is nice, don’t get me wrong, but it’s even nicer reading your comments and thoughts and how my writing may have helped you in some way or another.
so, why is it you write? do you do it for yourself, for other people, or for other reasons that i might not have mentioned?
let me know in the comments ☺️

This basically captures it. I struggle to get myself to write.. although it clears my mind when I finally do. I am a lifelong reader and so grateful to the authors who captured what I was feeling and gave me a connection, a lifeline in my dark moments. I want to start sharing my own voice now.

As a kid I always enjoyed the act of writing. And my teachers gave me praise and good marks so naturally I was motivated to write more. But as I progressed into high school and college, the joy for writing began to dissipate as my motivation became more externally driven, to get the grade I needed to get in order to go to some good college. And all of these research papers and papers on which I had no particular interest in turned me off of writing. However, now in my late 20s, I have a rekindled appreciation for writing.
Like you I often write for myself both in a private setting (journaling) and in a public space such as on SN. I once again enjoy writing just to express and to share, as well as to keep a written record of my own life, something I can pass down to the next generation or something I can reread later in life. I also write to engage in meaningful discussions and to partake in the sharing of ideas, experiences, and unique perspectives. Writing in a public space also helps with my writing skills and improving daily in better articulating my thoughts. And when you find a space in which you are a part of other like minded people (SN), and your writing encourages meaningful discussion and communication, all the more fun writing becomes!

For me, writing is an extraordinary skill which I discovered recently, speaking I could last hours on the show while I convey an idea or tell an anecdote. But I was not the most skilled at writing, now I try to learn more and put it into practice in SN, learning about bitcoin has led me to discover or enhance other skills, and one of them is writing to express my ideas. Thanks for reading and sharing!
