Egon Schiele (1890 - 1918) "Hindering the Artist is a Crime: it is Murdering Life in the Bud"
I really admire this artist! His art makes you realize people are fundamentally the same around the world and throughout all time.
Schiele departed from prevailing conventions of portraiture and devoted himself to the unhibited exploration of his own identity through drawing. He set out in search of self knowledge in countless self-portraits, trying out noumerous roles and emotional states on his face and body. He thus put his fear and loneliness, his rage, driveness, arrogance and sexuality on full display in all of its facets, doing so in poses pathologized by society.
