I don't get it. Isn't the orange pill app so you can meet people online to meet in person. Isn't that a meetup?

reply

meetups require an organizer and a venue.
with OPA you can meet other bitcoiners as you see fit.

take a look here to get an idea: https://www.orangepillapp.com/reviews

reply

I looked at some reviews. I sill don't get what you offer.

reply

best way to find out, is to signup and try for yourself

reply

You would probably get more members if people could check it out for a bit before paying.

reply

nah, we would get flooded with spammers & scammers.

reply

I am pretty sure there are other ways to weed a lot of that out.

reply

sure, we could monitor every single message, run censorship algos, and sell users data to pay the bills.

but I'm not interested in building a facebook for bitcoiners.

I was going to. Installed it and everything. I was excited. And then it said I had to pay before I could even see what it is about.

reply

the paywall is what makes OPA a special place, with no spammers, scammers, shipcoiners, ads etc etc

reply

Makes sense. I probably won't use it ever but I get it.

An organizer and a venue? How about i meet someone on nostr and I invite a new friend to my house. Im so confused.

reply

finding local bitcoiners on nostr is possible but very difficult.

we make that super-easy.

reply

Regardless of how I meet someone online, if we intend to meet in physical reality, we need a space to sit and a way to communicate to organize. This can't be done on nostr?

Meetups?
