afaik the turks brought it to europe, the whole balkan peninsula drinks turkish coffee. don't know what's the matter with greeks, but i got once in a mini argument on sn over it. if you search for greek or turkish coffe, you get similar results
Greeks hate anything Turkish including Turkey šŸ‡¹šŸ‡·

I think no need to argue about the origins of certain things, especially many things are so mixed up in this part of the world. šŸ‘€ ( many "Turkish" things are actually the Turks learned form Persian or the East. )

fun fact: the name Balkan comes from turkish, land of blood and honey

but do you really have good honey in the Balkan?
I'm trying to search where to get the best of all the necessaries, e.g. olive and honey is a MUST in life. šŸ‘€
reply
oh yeah, we have excellent honey, but it's not easy to find on the market, wich is flooded with fake honey, gotta know the right people

the best olive oil in the world comes from Istra region in Croatia, of course, small villages, old olive oil makers that don't compromise. for honey the region doesn't matter that much, it's more important how the beekeeper works. the turkish called it land of blood and honey because they tried for centuries to conquer it for it's natural resources but had a very hard time doing so

Are you from Croatia?
You know too much about Croatia and Balkan

I live here and now :)

agree, the best stuff comes from people making for themselves or out of persevering the traditional instead of massive produce and heavily branded .

I think both matters, flowers - bee - human hand šŸ‘€

exactly
both matters, flowers - honey - human hand
true, as long as the bees are not contaminated or weak - and this the beekeeper controls - the honey is good. to me it does not matter wich flowers the bees make honey of, as long as the bees don't come into contact with pollutants or herbicides and the beekeeper knows how to manage strong colonies that don't depend on chemicals and sugar

It's funny that you really need to do the WORK to find these people now - great quality and usually with a fair price.
Yet many people work so hard then to buy those being branded or marketed so hard products, and usually expensive while most of them are just average inside if not full of chemicals.
