city life is stressful - maybe people want to protect themselves with dark colors or perhaps it reflects their mood? 

also it depends on what the market/brands are producing, and most of them are making dark colors.

*the conspiracy level is maybe the dark colors are good for causing bad mood, more distance between people thus more sickness, easier to control, and more profit for the hospital?* 👀
