pull down to refresh

Congratulations! You have hung it there for another week. You are probably overcoming the withdrawal symptoms you suffer from not having the dopamine rush dervied from the Daily Rewards. Well, listen to Sensei. Breathe in, breathe out. Let your mind focus on other aspects. This period shall pass.
What am I grateful for this week?
  1. Thankful for the revivial of ~Photography. I used to feel inadequate about my photos but since I decided to start a habit of deleting the photo on my phone once I post it on SN, it has turned out to be a fun and motivating decluttering exercise. The other night, I spent one hour deleting photos from my phone. My mind feels lighter now. And it's true what they say: the first step is often the hardest.
  2. Thankful for clearer expectations of the zapping culture here. Thanks to my zapping post here, I realised that many Stackers don't expect a zap when they pen a comment. Well, I don't expect a zap too, but the spirit of reciprocal giving is entrenched in my culture, so previously I was stressing myself out for not having the zaps to acknowledge Stackers' contributions. This is especially so when my alcohol post yielded way more comments than sats. There's no way I can zap everyone, so I stopped my valiant efforts after a while.
I will try to get back to this post though haha.
  1. Thankful for having a clear idea of how much I should zap. You know, through scrutinising the Leaderboard, day in day out, I get a concrete sense of the revenue I ought to be withdrawing from the site. Right now, it stands at 50% roughly, i.e. I spend half of what I stack. Sounds like a fair distribution to me. I think locking in this ratio reduces the cognitive energy I need to expend in regard to zapping someone. If I still have more than 50% of my sats, I should go with the flow and just zap. But when I have less than 50%, well time to tighten the purse strings, guys.
  2. Thankful for the tidbits of cultural insights I get from being here. I have to raise two young children, but I'm honing my cultural versatility by learning what you eat, speak, celebrate, among other habits. My mind is engaged and stimulated.
What?! You mean, it costs 1000 sats to post on ~Meta these days. No problem, Sensei will still post this like a BOSS because that's what writers do: share what's on their minds.
Great insights. Interesting there is an amount you should zap vs withdraw. I am little more go-with-the-flow.. worse case you run out and then do without till the next rewards go in your favour.

I appreciate that. I’m not sat-rich but am hapoy to zap good content (rather than ‘all’ content which some MSM minded people seem to be doing at the moment.) I had a Saloon friend on here who was famous for his unsuspecting sat-bombs… (he pops up occasionally as anon these days)

Not all writers share what's on their minds/their opinions though. Some of the best writers/scribes in the world only wrote/typed factual information only with no opinion/room for bias at all. Look at some of the greatest news journalists or medical science research papers.
