I hereby promise that I will donate to the Stacker News rewards pool 1 shiny, brand new bitcoin when I win my first block, IF I win it pre 2024 halving. If it happens after the halving, I will donate 1/2 of a bitcoin.

So if you ever mine a block, you'll donate at least 0.5 bitcoin into the SN reward pool? Even if it happens in 20 years?

Oh, if you use a pool it's not a lottery miner. I thought you meant to mine alone since if you use a pool, you'll contribute to blocks regularly.

Then the promise doesn't make sense 👀

Update: oh, or maybe there are pools which only serve block templates but everyone still mines to their own address 🤔

CK pool is for lottery mining, I believe. I'm definitely going the lottery route. The reason I said that is because @WeAreAllSatoshi is mining with Braiins, and I wasn't sure if that was a solo pool too. I assumed it must be, since it wouldn't seem to make sense otherwise, but maybe I'm wrong?
