As a kid I wanted a monkey. Then I heard all the horror stories. My parents broke out the old "they throw their feces at you" tales, as if that would discourage me.

Before I do a search about the nazi part, I almost ordered sea monkeys from the back of Boy's Life magazine, but I always thought there was something fishy (pun intended) about the ad. They had these weird, smiling cartoon monkeys smiling at you. Even then I was suspicious.

The racoons get all the food they need from our garbage cans, if they can sneak into the garage. They know the back door doesn't close securely. When I hear them rustling around I go out to chase them away, but they're one step ahead of me.

Putting my kid out of work!
My daughter works in a facility that breeds and trains seeing eye dogs and veterans service dogs. The program is rigorous, so there is a high failure rate. The dropouts need to be permanently placed somewhere. I can tell she has her eye on a few. I suspect there will soon be even more animals under our roof.
