Hello Stackers!

Happy Thursday! You know what that means? It's time to throwback to nostalgia and good memories, when the sun shined and the birds chirped.

Today I bring you back to Fountains of Wayne with Stacey's Mom.

Whitesnake - Here I Go Again '87Whitesnake - Here I Go Again '87

for your listening pleasure, had to be the 1987 version! Classic!

Cheezy video, I know. Blame NME, he reminded me 🤣🤣

I'll take credit not blame 😜 can't be blamed for bringing up whitesnake.

I always loved this absolute anthem.

Makes you question....

Is this love? That I'm feeling?...

You enjoy that 🐇 🕳️ for today 😉

reply

haha totally, you get credit! I shouldn't say blame but I was just kidding! It's absolutely an anthem along with "Is this love". It's probably more fitting for me as a boozy Friday afternoon/night rabbit hole hehe - when I still used to drink, that is! LOL

reply

Haha, yeah I guessed, I was just pulling your leg.

Me neither these days (on the drinking) I don't bounce back nearly as rapidly as I used to 😂

1987 personally was one of the greatest years for rock albums. Not only did we get Whitesnake's 1987, we also got Def Leps Hysteria. What a time

I got to see these guys in, I think it was 2016, supported by... Whitesnake and black star riders (which is pretty much what remains of thin lzzy) and it was epic.

I also got to see them at download fest. Man these guys are like what? Nearly 70 and they absolutely still rock hard 🤘

reply

Oh man, don't look at their ages. They're all in the mid to early 60's, but in relation to the Stones, they're teenagers

reply

Haha everything's relative.

The Cars - My Best Friend's GirlThe Cars - My Best Friend's Girl

Stacey's mom is a cracking track (the ex Mrs Rod Stewart, Rachel Hunter there as mom), reminded me of this classic, which is also a cracking track

Yaknow I never put it together that the Stacey's mom was that Rachel hunter (I'm sure once upon a time I looked up her name). But I never realised it was Rod Stewarts ex-wife.

Banger of a track from the cars. Not a band I'm hugely familiar with but I did recognise this one.

Not my usual genre but it sounds good, nice simple hook with that trumpet line, that'll stay in my head for the rest of the day.

I can't pretend to know much about hip-hop but I'm learning one track at a time.

Real simple and empowering message. Great submission.

Not credited in the track but surprise appearance from DJ Khalid the man who does nothing but win. That was cool.

reply

This guy is an absolute pioneer of his genre. When people like Dre, Biggie, 50 and snoop are all talking good about someone, you should listen to those guys. Eminem is fantastic.

I'm not saying the Brits had possibly the biggest influence on modern day music...

But I'm just going to leave this little emoji here as it says it all.

🇬🇧

(Music might be the only thing to be proud of from Britain)
