When you have enough, swap to your unused address a preferred size
Just to get this straight: I can, say, have 10 buys on lightning, which will turn out to one UTXO when sending it back to on-chain?

Yea, and same if you make 10 purchases on an exchange and make a single deposit for the exchange to your own wallet

Any exchange … until you move the bitcoin off the exchange, it’s just a placeholder. When you move it off the exchange, they will do it in a single transaction
