PDF (Portable Document Format) are basically PostScript files, ideally made to contain text and vectors (EPS - Encapsulated PostScript) in the electronic publishing realm.
Why not then enable also SVG to be rendered as images? Lot of cool stuff could be done then!

It's meant for short reports and stuff, or resumes for ~jobs, and will be displayed like pictures.
Ah, that makes sense. Context helps. I'm still leery of leaning too heavily on pdf, though. Ghostscript is a better bet in general.

Yes. This wasn't meant to be a big issue. It's meant to just help sharing 1-2 sheet pdfs as an image, not novels or anything.
