There was already an interesting story of a comp sci student just using exhaustive/evo algorithms to decipher / generate ancient Sanskrit

Really interesting on the Sanskrit side, in addition to computing side.

Thank you for sharing that link. I normally don't go so deep but I love Sanskrit, Pali and ancient Indian Literature. I'm not an expert but any means but I've found that it's a great place to dig.

As I'm always skeptical I downloaded the PDF paper and I look forward to the insight.

Key notes
  1. Microsoft hints that the GPT-5 language model might decipher Linear A, an ancient undeciphered script.
  2. No official confirmation; success is not guaranteed due to the complexity of the task.
  3. GPT-5’s involvement could still aid research in identifying patterns in the script.
