Block index is the 'disciplined' way. Date/time is a pain with time zones and DST.

Block index has its own pains, no? Can we really replace dates far in the future using the timechain? Doesn't that introduce too much variables?

Its hard to plan real life events. Block index however is great for contracts such as this one.
