@siggy47 sent me a DM and wondered if he missed an announcement. He didn't and since probably many more territory founders are unaware of this change, I thought I'd make a little announcement.
Thanks to these 4 changed files with 6 additions and 7 deletions, pins are now zappable. You can't zap them from the feed but if you click on the item, the pin icon is gone and replaced with the zap icon.
That's it. That's the announcement.

I wasn't sure if this solved the issue exactly. I only made this change for the newsletter because Anita's wallet battle royale didn't show up in top. After the fact it appeared it might be "enough."
I think it's a big deal. Now owners can reward stackers with pinned posts. Otherwise, it was actually a punishment since they couldn't get zapped.
I hadn't viewed it as a reward. It's interesting to think about it that way.

If a territory owner pins a post right after it's published, will it disappear from the home feed? Are you planning to change this or will it stay the way it is?

It doesn't disappear from home or top or recent anymore. The affect of pinning is it is pinned in the territory when the territory is viewed directly and that is all.
I had a pinned post not show up on the home screen. Confirmed on my friends SN accounts too. As soon as I unpinned it, it went to the top.
