Hi SN! I'm the founder of a Bitcoin education company called Jippi. We've been working on a mobile application for beginners to stack sats while they learn about Bitcoin. Learning is supposed to be accessible for beginners and interactive, as users will join an online community to support them on their journey through audio conversations called Gatherings.

We're looking for beta testers and we would love feedback.

You can find us here: https://jippi.app.

Wooo! Let me know if you have any questions. We should be sending out invites to the beta in the next couple of weeks or so. So hang tight.

reply

I will definitely give my feedback

We're looking for as much insight as possible. If you have any initial feedback after the video feel free to add it here: https://8c4rf0hrmx0.typeform.com/to/O0Q4jxyj

Can you describe your experience with HubSpot?

ETA: I just joined the waitlist, too!

reply

Appreciate the sign up ⚡

reply

And HubSpot is pretty neat for simple email capture and triggering of emails based on submission of a sign up form. It's easy and does a whole lot more too. I recommend it

reply

I would love to be a beta bester too, I hope they are perks that come with testing the app

reply

Great to have you!

reply

What's the significance of the name?

reply

Jippi means "actual cost" in Japanese, referring to inflation, the actual cost of our debt-based monetary system.

reply

実費

Thanks for teaching me a Japanese word haha

reply

Pleasure! We loved the beauty of the word and the meaning behind it. "Actual cost" slots so nicely into the Bitcoin value proposition and the perception of the fiat inflation ponzi.

reply

Nice. What are the sat rewards like? Ads? What user data are you collecting?

How does this app differ from Yzer?

reply

Great question. Yzer was one of the apps we looked at when we were building Jippi.

Yzer does a pretty good job of offering quick learning modules which are optimized for 3 minutes or less, as well as providing sats rewards to incentivize progress, but Yzer (and other earn and learn apps) fall short in two main ways:

  1. Content is limited and the biggest feedback we noticed was users drop off after completing the modules. These apps don't do a good job of offering upward momentum to help progress the learner to different stages of their Bitcoin journey.
  2. Yzer offers Zoom calls and other social features like a leaderboard, but they don't provide a solid online community of learners within the app. We believe that learning about Bitcoin requires a much more interactive approach - specifically interacting with other Bitcoiners, participating in knowledge-sharing sessions, and going to offline events. The current earn and learn apps don't facilitate any of this in app.

--

We believe that education should be as varied as Bitcoiners themselves, so our goal is to provide tiered learning experiences in the form of different Paths:

Tier 1 - Beginner-friendly, bitesize content for quick-fire learning Tier 2 - Narrative-driven content for more immersive learning Tier 3 - A personalized, in-depth learning experience tailored to user interests

Along with supportive online communities for educational audio conversations. We think Jippi is going to be the best place to start your Bitcoin journey.

reply

Yeah I often find myself bored on Yzer. Plus they force the subscription down your throat after every lesson. I was trying to keep a daily streak but that was sort of broken too

reply

Also Yzer doesn’t always facilitate successful withdrawals. I recall at least three occasions in which I tried to withdraw my sats from Yzer to ZBD. I saw zero sats on Yzer but my sats never showed up on ZBD - I don’t know why the transaction fell through ;(

Nonetheless I use Yzer because it gives me 50 sats for doing nothing every few days haha

reply

Interesting, that's pretty cruddy to have such a flakey withdrawal mechanism. Glad to hear you enjoy getting some sats every day ⚡

reply

It's not available in my country. I hope jippi comes soon for Indian users.

reply

Saw this, wouldn't mind jumping on this to learn more. Even if I may be advanced, I'm always happy to learn different POV. I would join this, any chance you can make this nostr-enabled? doing so I could write about it in articles i post on nostr.

I just tried to register, but the verification email was not received :(

reply

The email should have gone out just now

reply

Received it.

Joined to waitlist, watched the video. Seems like it is a freat app, BUT...I can't download it from Google Play store... when I push Google Play, it reappear the "Join the waitlist".

Btw...I would like to be a beta-tester

reply

Glad to hear you got the welcome email. We're not yet on the app stores, but we will be by the time we fully open the beta. We'll keep you posted! We need some passionate testers to give us good feedback.

reply

Done. At the waitlist.

reply

Welcome ⚡

reply

Oh excellent initiative for those of us who are starting out, to be able to encourage others to join in learning about bitcoin. Thank you

reply

Appreciated, we think we have something here too ⚡

reply

Looking for more from you. I'm still waiting for the welcome email. I hope your project gets traction. Best wishes.

reply

Thanks for the love!

reply

Interesting, what do you mean by "audio conversations" ?

reply

The best way to describe our Gatherings is as online conversations like a Twitter Space or a Clubhouse Room. When learners join a Gathering, the audio of the speaker is broadcast to all the participants in the call, then the audio is saved later like a podcast to be played whenever the learner wishes.

woo doggie!

reply

Sure i would be happy to give it a try especially since the name is inspired by a Japanese word.

In case you have never heard of Simple Bitcoin, one of your competitors, here’s my review of it: #367392

reply

Great! Simple Bitcoin is one of the apps we were looking at when building Jippi. Thanks for that review data, good to know.

Welcome! ⚡

It's much needed service so appreciate you for taking this on. What can you share with us about the team's experience in educational apps and this particular domain? How will you ensure quality of information and experience.

reply

Glad to hear that, we're super excited to see where Jippi can go. The genesis point was building the education app we wished we had when we were discovering Bitcoin. Eventually, we would like to incentivize Bitcoin thought leaders to join Jippi so they can start a Tribe, produce top-tier educational content, and also earn sats themselves.

reply

I'll check it out

Just joined the waitlist! Watching the video right now.

Couple of Suggestions:

1- For a wider reach please consider translating the app to several other languages (include Paths/Lessons)

2- Giving people the possibility to start the Paths, just read and learn and then get the reward without taking any kind of questionnaire will inevitably lead to abuse. If you have finite funds to cover this my suggestion here is you to add some simple quiz at the end of each lesson, so users must take it and reply it the right way to get the reward.

For translations purposes, here a LATAM user. Reach me here if you want help for free (in my spare time)

reply

Great! Thanks for the suggestions, we'll be sure to add these to the roadmap.
