The answer was something like "In 2021 El Salvador required all businesses to accept this as payment." The contestant answered correctly. Not earth shattering, but it was nice to hear it mentioned. The best part for me: My wife answered before I did.

She's a keeper!
Yep
My wife would have never answered lol
BASED WIFE.
A very clever wife
Nice. I wonder what the next level would be. Like in 4 years before the next halving, what will a bitcoin Jeopardy question look like? (or answer, whatever)
That seems further off to me. Next level would be the white paper.
Very nice. What was the category and dollar value of the question?
It was the $800 clue in Double Jeopardy, "Business & Finance History". The actual clue:
(This is actually not accurate; businesses are not required to accept bitcoin in El Salvador.)
Since Bitcoin is legal tender in El Salvador, it can be used to pay any debt.
This means that in the same way as cash, they have to accept it.
If I show up at the pupusería with only bitcoin, they don’t have to sell to me. And in practice, almost never will. There is never a debt that they are forced to settle with my bitcoin.
I don't know. I was half paying attention (reading new SN posts!). My wife is a big Jeopardy fan.
If this isn’t bullish, I don’t know what is!
You have a very smart wife! ;)
Yes I do.
Didn t watch it today as i was running but it would have definitly be one of the rare answers i usually give on that gamr lol
