In this new series, we’ll be highlighting underrated features stackers might not be aware of each week. Today’s post is all about zapping.
By now most stackers have figured out that the Lightning bolt next to every post and comment sends a zap to the creator of that content.
By default, your zap amount is either 10 sats or 1 sat, but you can set any custom zap amount in your settings. 69, 420, 666, 1776 sats, it’s all fair game.
Not only can you customize your default zap amounts, you can also customize your zap amounts on a one-time basis. By simply long-pressing the Lightning bolt, a tooltip will appear that allows you to input any zap amount for that particular post or comment.
Finally, there is one more tool for the stackers who like to live on the edge, it’s called turbo zapping.
Turbo zapping is our most powerful zapping tool where each click scales your zap amount logarithmically, rather than linearly.
For example, if your default zap amount is 10 sats, your first click on a particular item will zap 10 sats. Your next click will zap 100 (90 more), your next click will zap 1,000 (900 more), and on and on.
To turn on turbo zapping, go to your settings, click the “advanced” dropdown below the zap default input field, then click to enable turbo zapping.

Love the feature & flexibility.
My default zap is ~200. 2k and then 20k is a bit rich for me. I prefer to have a higher default zap and long-press when need to zap less.
I was in the same boat. A few days ago, I started using turbo zap and decreased my default to 27. I use that for minor replies just to let the person know I saw it, then two clicks for my old default zap and three for excellent posts. So far I like the change.
I don't trust myself with this feature. I am going to no be paying attention and zap someone 100k sats.
autowithdrawals are a solution to this problem
I have an autowithdraw set for 125k sats. I must keep at least 100k to pay rent or else @k00b will evict me.
Lol😂
this should read exponentially, not logarithmically
There could be a possibility that the turbo zap is not a logarithm but increments defined by the stacker.
Alway good to remind people to zap lol And I did not know about the long press option!
I'm a few days into using turbo zaps. No accidents so far!
Sweet! Please allow an optional option to zap every post or comment that shows up on our screen. I created a script that does that on Primal.net, but I haven’t gotten it working on SN.
good idea!
We zap good content, not just any content. I don't think that's a good idea. But I agree that whoever wants to do it should have the chance.
The first thing that came to mind when reading about Turbo mode

OMG that brings back memories...
Yeah 😅🎯
I remember always wanting the NES Advantage 😂
When will we be able to post in multiple territories at once?
The zapping experience here is pretty cool. I like setting a lower default zap amount just so I can see more thunderbolts. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Custom zaps make customize zapping easier
I like custom zapping more, turbo zapping is for sats whales
I love to see the continued evolution and growth on the site. Thanks for keeping an open ear! Great job SN team!
woo doggie!
Wow...this info with "Turbo Zapping" was new info for me. Thanks for share it.
Btw...how I can set on my next articles to "donate" a part from zaps to a user? I just observed here, that @ekzyis are forwarding 75% of Zaps from the "Zap to Zero" articles. Thanks
Well, what @sn default ZAP 🙊
I'm a new user and by default my zap amount was set at 100 when I signed up
yes, that's right. it should have read 1 sat, 10 sats, or 100 sats.

We came up with the same idea :)
